15 DAYS GORILLAS& WILDLIFE SAFARI

OVERVIEW

This 15 Days Uganda safari with gorillas tour will take you through Uganda’s exclusive wildlife, found in her conservation areas which among others include Murchison falls, the oldest and the largest plus Kidepo Valley National Park which is voted as the true African Wilderness by CNN and NAT GEO Wild! You will have a chance to encounter among others the endangered giant Mountain Gorillas in Bwindi Impenetrable forest, the playful chimpanzees in Kibale forest, and the tree climbing Lions in Ishasha, the Zebras, Elephants and Impala herds in Lake Mburo National park. In all the national parks you will visit, birds will be around you!

DETAILS

DAY 1: ARRIVAL AT ENTEBBE AIRPORT AND TRANSFER TO YOUR HOTEL

On your arrival at Entebbe international airport (EBB) for this amazing 15 Days Uganda safari with gorillas, you will be met by our safaris staff that will brief you and transfer you to your hotel for relaxation. You can have an optional city tour depending on your time of arrival. Dinner and overnight stay at Via Via Guest House 

DAY 2: TRANSFER TO KITGUM VIA ZIWA RHINO SANCTUARY

Early morning, the driver will pick you from your hotel and brief you before heading out to Kitgum which is in the northern part of Uganda. Along the way you will make a stop at the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary in Nakasongola where rhinos are being reintroduced to the wild in Uganda so that you have a complete feel of the African Big five mammals as it is the Rhinos, out of the big five that are missing in Murchison Falls National park. Here you will go for a trek around the sanctuary on foot. You will have lunch at the sanctuary and some relaxation for an indefinitely short time and embark on an exciting road trip to Kitgum, arriving in the evening at the lodge for relaxation and dinner at Hotel Boma Kitgum. 

DAY 3: TRANSFER TO KIDEPO VALLEY NATIONAL PARK-WILDLIFE VIEWING

After breakfast drive northwards through Kitgum in a landscape of vast plains and semi-arid savannah framed by jagged mountains and wooded hills, Kidepo is one of the wildest and most spectacular reserves in Africa. The landscape throughout the park is studded with small hills, rocky outcrops and inselbergs from which one can obtain stunning views in all directions enjoy panoramic views of the Narus River Valley and photographic opportunities of wildlife from all corners, An afternoon game drive along the Narus River Valley for game Viewing and photography of Elephants, herds of Buffaloes, Jackals, Jackson’s Hartebeest, Klipspringer and possibly Lions. Dinner and overnight at Kidepo Savannah Lodge. 

DAY 4: KIDEPO VALLEY NATIONAL PARK SAFARI: KIDEPO VALLEY NATIONAL PARK-GAME DRIVE AND KARAMAJONG COMMUNITY WALK.

Depart in the morning after break and carry with you packed lunch for game drive to the hot springs via the palm trees lined Kidepo River, in search for Ostriches and leopards, tortoises along the way. After having our packed lunch, we will stench our legs on guided nature walk through the park and return to hotel Karamoja villages for an exciting community encounter with the Karamajong pastoralists, relax and have time to enjoy the wildernesses night overstay and meals at Kidepo Savannah Lodge

DAY 5: KIDEPO VALLEY NATIONAL PARK WILDLIFE SAFARI AND TRANSFER TO GULU

After breakfast, have a morning game drive to search for Kidepo’s exclusive wildlife such as Ostriches, hartebeest, Roan antelopes and many woodland birds. Have lunch and relax by the lodge. Later, travel through the remotest zones of Uganda, seeing the villages and grass thatched houses passing by the window. View the wild, domestic and Cultural richness of this pearl of Africa, experience quality Vegetation Spend the night in the town of Gulu. Dinner and overnight at Gulu Churchill Courts

DAY 6: TRANSFER FROM GULU TO MURCHISON FALLS NATIONAL PARK-EVENING GAME DRIVE

You will meet our professional driver guide at your Hotel in Gulu town and drive southwards to Murchison Falls National park reaching in afternoon at your hotel for lunch. After lunch, we depart for a game drive across the savannah in the northern part of the park. You will see abundant wildlife as the sun rises as Murchison Falls National Park is a home of game including Elephants, Lions, Leopards, Buffaloes, Hartebeests, Giraffes and a heaven of antelopes. Head back to the lodge and fro relaxation, dinner and overnight at Hornbill Bush Lodge

 

DAY 7: MORNING GAME DRIVE FOR AFRICAN BIG FIVE SEARCH IN NORTH MURCHISON FALLS AND AFTERNOON BOAT CRUISE TO THE BASE OF THE FALLS

After an early morning warm up tea/coffee, you will transfer for a game drive to the northern bank in search of animals like: Lions, Giraffes, Oribis, Elephants, Jackson’s hartebeests, Uganda kobs, Buffaloes among other animals and bird species. You will then return to the lodge in time for lunch and relax preparing for yet an exciting activity in the afternoon. After lunch, transfer for a three hours boat ride on the Nile River to the bottom of falls where you will have the opportunity to view animals like; crocodiles, hippos, in the water and some on the river banks, while; buffaloes, waterbucks, and elephants are often seen on the river bank grazing and drinking water. You will then have to hike to the top of the falls for a clear view of the falls. Return to your lodge for a relaxed evening, dinner and overnight at Hornbill Bush Lodge 

DAY 8: MORNING GAME DRIVE FOR AFRICAN BIG FIVE SEARCH AND TRANSFER TO THE EDGES OF KIBALE FOREST NATIONAL PARK

After breakfast, enjoy an early game drive and enjoy some of the vast array of game animals like giraffes, elephants and buffalo that roam the park. You get yet another chance to explore the game drive tracks, to possibly to carnivores like Lions, Elephants and Hyenas plus Vultures in case you missed them in the previous night. Immediately after the morning game drive you will start your journey to Fort Portal town along the way you will see beautiful landscape sceneries, with lunch en route. Dinner and overnight at Isunga Safari Lodge

DAY 9: CHIMPANZEE TRACKING IN KIBALE FOREST NATIONAL PARK AND BIGODI COMMUNITY WALK PARK.

After having your break, get prepare for yet another primate experience inside Kibale forest called Chimpanzee trekking, Kibale’s most popular and more exciting activity Primate Walk which brings up close and personal with Chimpanzees and other primate species that are sought, and a good variety of daytime monkeys invariably encountered, but the stars of this trail are the chimpanzees. Later in the day you shall transfer to the Bigodi Wetlands, situated on the eastern edge of the forest. There you shall take a light walk in the wetlands to observe plenty of primates and wildlife including birds and many monkey species. You will drive to queen Elizabeth National park, arriving in the evening for dinner and overnight at Pumba Safari Cottages 

DAY 10: BOAT CRUISE ON KAZINGA CHANNEL AND GAME DRIVE IN QUEEN ELIZABETH NATIONAL PARK

After your breakfast you will be taken to Kasenyi, famous for the early morning and evening game drives for wildlife viewing especially big Mammals. You will enjoy this guided safari while keeping a close eye on herds of Uganda Kob, African elephants, African Cape Buffalos, Waterbucks, Hartebeests, Vultures and lots of other identifiable mammals. You could have a chance to spot some Hyenas, Lions and Leopards after proceed to your lodge for lunch and some relaxation. In the afternoon you will take a Boat Cruise along the amazing Kazinga channel to see, at close range, the water animals to include Hippos, Buffalos, Crocodiles and elephants bathing on the channel banks. There is also a variety of bird species on the water banks especially the famous Shoebill, pelican and Jacana. Later get back to the lodge for a relaxed evening plus dinner and overnight at Pumba Safari Cottages

DAY 11: CHIMPANZEE TREKKING IN KALINZU CENTRAL FOREST RESERVE AND RELAX AT THE LODGE

Have an early morning breakfast and head to Kalinzu Central Forest Reserve for Chimpanzee trekking to meet man’s closet cousins in the wild. You will be amazed to see these primates as they play, swing on tree branches, fight for food etc. The flora in this forest is also among the most impressive you will find in Uganda and it is swarmed a rich wildlife bio-diversity that comprises of primates, wild animals as well as birds. You will have a relaxed afternoon at the lodge or have an evening game drive in Queen Elizabeth National park.  Dinner and overnight will be at Pumba Safari Cottages

 

DAY 12: CHIMPANZEE TREKKING IN KYAMBURA GORGE AND TRANSFER TO BWINDI IMPENETRABLE FOREST-GORILLAS’ WORLD

Have an early morning breakfast and head to Kyambura gorge Forest for Chimpanzee trekking to meet man’s closet cousins in the wild. The stunning Kyambura Gorge also called the “Valley of Apes” is located in the far eastern corner of the well- known Queen Elizabeth National Park in south western Uganda. The landscape is among the most impressive you will find in Uganda and it is swarmed a rich wildlife bio-diversity that comprises of primates, wild animals as well as birds. Later embark on an exciting road trip back to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National park, with lunch en route, arriving in the evening for refreshment, and later dinner and overnight at Broadbill Forest Camp

DAY 13: GORILLA TRACKING IN BWINDI AND TRANSFER TO EDGES OF LAKE MBURO NATIONAL PARK

Early morning breakfast and proceed to the briefing point. Enjoy the highlight of your trip – Gorilla trekking, which may last from 2 to 6 hours depending on the group you are visiting. We trek through the rainforest and bamboo covered slopes, accompanied by a Uganda Wildlife Authority guide and other trackers, in search of a mountain gorilla family. The walking can sometimes be tough and long, but when you catch a glimpse of the magnificent silverback, any discomforts will be quickly forgotten. Due to the nature of the activity, you will have packed lunch. After Gorilla trekking, you will drive through the terraced hills to the edges of Lake Mburo national park. Dinner and overnight at will be at Mpogo Lodge

DAY 14: MORNING WALKING SAFARI IN LAKE MBURO NATIONAL PARK AND TRANSFER TO ENTEBBE

After having an early breakfast, go for a morning safari walk in Lake Mburo national park. This park is famous for walks inside and around the park on foot where you can see long horned cattle of Ankole community which can mix freely with Zebras, Impalas, Giraffes, Warthogs, Elands, Cape Buffalos and many tropical bird species. Checkout of the lodge and transfer to Entebbe with lunch along the way!! But along the way, you will make a stopover at the Equator line to have an authentic feel of standing at Latitude 00. You will arrive in the evening at Entebbe arriving in the evening for a relaxed evening, dinner and overnight at Via Via Guest House

 

DAY 15: TRANSFER TO ENTEBBE INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT FOR YOUR EXIT FLIGHT

After having breakfast, you will be transferred back to Entebbe to readily check in and board your flight back home as you say fare well to the pearl of Africa!
