The 7 days Uganda Gorilla, Chimpanzee tracking and big game safari will be an amazing journey through Uganda’s western loop to the Gorilla land-Bwindi Impenetrable National park for gorilla tracking. It will also include a break of the journey at Lake Mburo national park, which is Uganda’s smallest savanna park. Here you will engage in an evening game walk and cultural tour before heading for Bwindi. After gorilla tracking, you will visit Uganda’s most popular park, Queen Elizabeth National Park for a game drive and search for the tree climbing lions in the Ishasha Sector.

Tour Plan
Day 1- Arrival and pick up
Upon your arrival at Entebbe international airport, you will be welcomed by our staff or your designated driver guide and transfer you to your hotel in Entebbe, and relax from your long flight as you get prepared for your upcoming adventure on the country side.
Main Destination: Entebbe

Day 2- Transfer to Kibale National park
Today we transfer to Kibale Forest after breakfast. It is an amazing journey with different landscapes, economic, activities and settlement pattern. You will enjoy the drive on a smooth road and arrive early afternoon. You will relax at the lodge, have lunch and in the afternoon visit the Bigodi Wetland and learn about the culture and local people’s lifestyle.

Day 3- Chimpanzee tracking and transfer to Queen Elizabeth National park
It’s chimpanzee day! Be at the ranger station for 8 am for your briefing, and then head out into the forest with your guide for this incredible chance to see chimpanzees in the wild. If you’re lucky, they’ll come down to the forest floor, and you’ll be able to get within just a few metres of them. After the tracking, we shall have lunch and drive south to Queen Elizabeth National park. Upon arrival we shall check in at our lodge and later go out for the evening game drive in the Kasenyi plains.

Day 4- Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National park via Ishasha
Today we transfer to the gorilla sanctuary but first with a drive through Ishasha. Ishasha is a small but wildlife rich area along the Congolese border making the southern sector of Queen Elizabeth National park famous for tree climbing lions. 62Km south of the sector is Buhoma sector which is the headquarter for Bwindi Impenetrable National park. We shall have gorilla tracking session here and overnight.

Day 5- Gorilla tracking
Bwindi’s rugged landscape of steep hills and valleys provide shelter to about 55% of the global mountain gorilla population and gorilla tracking is the main activity here. It is a thrilling but costly adventure to meet these great apes. Today by 8 we shall be at the booking office for briefing and leave shortly with the guides and rangers in the lead. The round trip can take anything from 3-10 hours depending on the proximity and how easy you locate the gorillas. So you will carry your packed lunch, enough drinking water and energizer. You can also hire a potter to help you with your back pack. On return, we shall visit the Batwa community. A group of pygmies (hunter-gatherers) that were staying in the forest before being evicted. Now they survive on performing their way of forest life to tourists.

Day 6- Transfer to Entebbe
Today, we return to the airport for an exit flight or to Kampala. We shall do the long drive from Bwindi to Kampala/Entebbe with various stops to stretch and lunch. We shall stop at the equator for the equator experiment.

Day 7- Shoebill search and Exit
The shoebill is the most sought after of Ugandan birds. The rare bird is a native to a swamp near Entebbe-Mabamba swamp. Here there is a 90% success rate of seeing the bird. Today we shall have breakfast, and drive to Nakiwogo landing site where we shall board a motorized canoes to the swamp. We shall spend hours riding through boat trails made in the swamp as we search for the bird. After, you shall be transferred to the Airport for your exit flight.
The Shoebill search can be optional depending on the departure time.
