Famous for wildlife encounter and lion sightings at the park is the Kasenyi plains. The network of tracks here make it easy to drive through as we do the search and watch wildlife. This includes elephants, water bucks, Uganda Kobs, leopards, lions, buffaloes, and some of the 95 mammals and 600 birds that are recorded here. After we shall return to the lodge for lunch and relaxation as we await for the evening to do the magnificent drive through the craters. These are less explored but classic region of the park.

The “Valley of apes”, Kyambura Gorge has one community of chimpanzees that are always referred to as the lost chimpanzees. These are habituated for tracking and going down the 100m deep valley for these primates, doesn’t guarantee seeing them because they are always on the move but it is never disappointing. There is a lot of life from old trees, birds, monkey, and hippos that fill the Kyambura River. After tracking, we shall transfer to Buhoma where we shall have an overnight before the gorilla encounter the next day.
