The 9 days Uganda primates and Big game safari goes to Uganda’s famous attractions where you will walk with wildlife as the sun goes down at Lake Mburo Np, cruise on the Kazinga channel and watch wildlife in the shadows of Rwenzori Mountains, get amused by the gentle giants in the Bwindi Impenetrable national park, and track chimpanzees at Kibale forest a prime primate destination in Uganda.

Day 1- Arrival and Pick Up

Overview Details

Upon your arrival at Entebbe international airport, you will be welcomed by our staff or your designated driver guide and transfer you to your hotel in Entebbe, and relax from your long flight as you get prepared for your upcoming adventure on the country side. This is the start of our 9 days Uganda primates and Big game safari.

Day 1- Arrival and Pick Up

Upon your arrival at Entebbe international airport, you will be welcomed by our staff or your designated driver guide and transfer you to your hotel in Entebbe, and relax from your long flight as you get prepared for your upcoming adventure on the country side. This is the start of our 9 days Uganda primates and Big game safari.

Main Destination: Entebbe (City)

Day 2- Transfer to Kibale Forest

The highlight of any visit to Kibale is Chimpanzee tracking excursion that leave twice a day at 8.00am and 14.00pm. Today we shall check out at our accommodation and transfer to the “Primate Capital” about a 4 hour drive from Entebbe but through scenic country sides and various fields of tea. We shall arrive in the afternoon and later do a community walk in Bigodi a community adjacent to the park.

Day 3-Chimpanzee tracking and transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

An excursion day for tracking chimpanzee shall be started with breakfast at the lodge and a short drive to Kanyanchu Visitors centre for briefing. Chimpanzees are well habituated and allow approach within 8-10m of individuals that will be feeding and others grooming. Guides will lead you after briefing takes a maximum of about 4 hours including the 1 hour you are allowed for watching. After you shall return to the visitors centre for your certificates and we have lunch before driving to Queen Elizabeth National Park.

Day 4- Morning game drive and boat safari

Today is a big game day in Queen Elizabeth National park. We shall have an early breakfast and drive to the Kasenyi plains for a morning game drive. The area is crisscrossed by a labyrinthine network of game viewing roads in the short-grass savanna and we shall drive through in search of resident lion prides, leopards, elephants, herds of kobs, buffaloes, singing birds, and others of the 95 mammals in the park. After, we shall return to the lodge for lunch before our cruise on the Kazinga Channel. This will create a relaxed afternoon of game watching on the 40km long channel, whose 10km is host active tourism. Later we return for dinner and overnight.

Day 5- Game drive at Ishasha Sector and overnight at Bwindi Impenetrable National park.

Somehow this sector is removed from the rest of the park. It runs south from Lake Edward and on the flanks of Ishasha river and Congolese border. It is one of the alluring game viewing areas and best known for its population of tree-climbing lions. It is retains an untrammeled wilderness character and also supports herds of Kobs, buffaloes, warthogs, topi, waterbucks, elephants, baboons, Patas monkeys, among others. We shall have a game drive here before leaving for Bwindi Impenetrable national park

Day 6- Gorilla tracking

Uganda’s single most important tourist hotspot is the 331sqk Bwindi forest that covers a rugged landscape of steep hills and valleys abutting the Congolese border south of Ishasha sector. The forest provides shelter to some of Africa’s diverse mammalian fauna that includes half population of mountain gorillas and the main activity here is gorilla tracking. Today we shall drive to the head offices of Bwindi Forest Park for orientation and briefing before we hit the trails for an amazing encounter with the mountain gorillas. The activity can last 3-8 hours depending on the location of gorillas. If you return early you will visit the Batwa community in the afternoon.

Day 7- Transfer to Lake Mburo National park

Today we drive to Lake Mburo NP after breakfast. The park is an underrated gem famous for its Zebra and Impala numbers. Despite the relative accessibility it is bypassed by most safaris because it is low on the big 5 count but it has animals not usually observed elsewhere in the country and unique activities. We shall arrive at our lodge in the afternoon, have lunch and later drive to the park for a walking safari. Here an armed ranger will accompany you and you can walk through grazing animals for about 2 hours. After return to the lodge.

Day 8- Morning community visit and transfer to Kampala

On the park fringes are the local Bahima famous for keeping the famous long-horned cattle breed-Ankole Long horned cattle. We shall do the milking experience and also learn about the other ways of life by this group before we drive to Entebbe. On our way to Entebbe we shall have a stop at the equator for a photo moment before continuing our journey north.

Day 9- Airport transfer.

Today depending on your flight schedule, you shall be dropped at the airport for your exit flight.
