The 10 days Uganda Gorilla and Big 5 safari cuts through the Murchison Falls loop and joins into the western safari circuit of Uganda. It goes via Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for an on foot Rhino tracking before joining to Murchison Falls national park. It also includes and encounter with Chimpanzees at the premier Chimpanzee destination in Uganda-Kibale forest, game drives and boat safari at Queen Elizabeth National park and an encounter with the gorillas at Bwindi impenetrable national park.

Day 1- Arrival and pick up

Today when you touch down into the “Pearl of Africa”, our representative will pick you from the airport and transfer you the lodge/hotel for an overnight before you start your adventure the next day.

Day 2- Transfer to Murchison Falls via Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary

In Uganda, rhinos can only be seen in a wild setting at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary where you can track them on foot. The sanctuary is 70 hectares and now have over 33 northern white rhinos, and as you transfer to Murchison Falls national park, you shall have a stop here for the activity. Later proceed to park, drive through as you go to the lodge for an overnight

Day 3- Morning game drive and afternoon boat safari to the bottom of the falls

The bulk of the park’s wildlife is concentrated to the northern bank and there are established circuits of tracks for game drives. We shall drive through in search of wildlife from the lion prides here, leopards, hippos, elephants, hyenas, kobs, warthogs, among others. After we return to the lodge for lunch before the boat safari. Boat safaris start from Paraa following the Victoria Nile east or west. We shall do a 3 hour return launch trip to the base of the falls eastwards along the archetypically stretch of the Nile before docking on a stone bay few meters away from the gashing waterfall. The wild and birdlife is reliably stunning. After return and meet your guide before returning to the lodge.

Day 4- Transfer to Kibale National park

Today we shall visit the top of falls where the fast-flowing and wide Nile River is forced to explode as it goes through a 7m cleft in the Rift valley escarpment. We shall then after drive to Kibale Forest a prime park for chimpanzee tracking in Uganda.  The forests also hosts other 12 primates and some are nocturnal. Arrive in the late afternoon and relax at the lodge.

Day 5- Chimpanzee tracking and transfer to Queen Elizabeth National park

The highlight of any visit to Kibale is Chimpanzee tracking excursion that leave twice a day at 8.00am and 14.00pm. We shall opt for a morning walk in the forest for chimpanzee tracking and this will be after our breakfast. Chimpanzees are well habituated and allow approach within 8-10m of individuals that will be feeding and others grooming. Guides will lead you after briefing takes a maximum of about 4 hours including the 1 hour you are allowed for watching. You can carry your packed lunch. After lunch, we shall drive to Queen Elizabeth National park, check in at our lodge and later do a crater drive in the evening.

Day 6- Morning game drive and afternoon boat on the Kazinga Channel

Today is a big game day in Queen Elizabeth National park. We shall have an early breakfast and drive to the Kasenyi plains for a morning game drive. The area is crisscrossed by a labyrinthine network of game viewing roads in the short-grass savanna and we shall drive through in search of resident lion prides, leopards, elephants, herds of kobs, buffaloes, singing birds, and others of the 95 mammals in the park. Later in the afternoon after lunch, we shall do a boat safari on the Kazinga Channel. The wildlife viewing here is excellent with animals that come to the banks to drink and also water birds. You have to keep eyes open for the monitor lizards and the Nile crocodiles. The boat trip last 2-3 hours. Later we return to the lodge for an overnight.

Day 7- Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable national park after a game drive at the Ishasha sector

From the northern part of Queen Elizabeth National park to Bwindi impenetrable national park is about 150kk but on an interesting road through the Maramagambo forest and driving through the park’s south side. During our transfer, we drive through the Ishasha sector famous for the tree climbing lions. We shall have a game drive here try our luck to see the tree climbing lions. After we shall have lunch and continue to Bwindi impenetrable national park.

Main Destination: Queen Elizabeth and Bwindi Impenetrable National Parks.

Accommodation: Ride 4 a Woman.

Day 8- Gorilla tracking

After breakfast, you will head to the park headquarters for briefing by park ranger guides, depart with picnic lunch boxes to start Gorilla trekking– the activity can last up to 4 hours trek or more to find the Mountain Gorillas as you hike up and down the slopes with dense mist covered vegetation. Hence you will have packed lunch for this activity. This active quest will eventually bring you to the face of one of the most sought after creatures-the mountain Gorillas. Upon reaching them, you will have a full hour with them while observing and learning their behavior as you take photos. Later return to the lodge and relax.

Day 9- Transfer back to Entebbe

Today we shall have breakfast at the lodge, and later drive to Entebbe. It is a long scenic drive, via different districts crossing the equator and arriving in Entebbe in the evening. You shall have a covid-19 test and an overnight at the lodge.

Accommodation: Via Via Guesthouse.

Day 10- Exit Flight

Today, depending on your flight schedule, you shall be dropped at the airport for the exit flight.
